Comté cheese has a history that stretches back more than 2,000 years. Beloved by the Romans, including Julius Caesar himself, this iconic cheese has long been a staple of fine taste. By the Middle Ages, producers formed dairies called fruitières—cooperatives that made it easier to produce large wheels of Comté and preserve its nourishing qualities through harsh winters.

Today, Comté holds the title of the highest producing French AOC cheese and remains one of our best sellers. This exceptional Comté is crafted for the most discerning palates. After maturing for 24 months, it boasts a smoother texture and unveils rich, persistent aromas of walnuts, roasted almonds, melted butter, and spices, all softened by delicate notes of mature cream.

Crystals of tyrosine add a delightful crunch and deepen the flavour, making this cheese a true treat. Our Comté 24 Months reveals its full aromatic spectrum when served on a cheese board with white or black grapes, dried fruits, or nuts.

Store it in the refrigerator for up to five weeks, but be sure to remove it an hour before serving to fully appreciate its complex and exquisite flavours.
