Of southern origins, Fusilli Al Ferretto have a long history. Originally they were made with a hand technique handed down from mother to daughter, which consisted in rolling the dough around a knitting needle, thus obtaining a type of pasta with a tight, spiral shape.
A very simple pasta shape loved by all : its delicate spiral shape amuses children and is appreciated by adults because it captures well the sauce.
