Ossau-Iraty

Weight: 200

Maturation: 6 months

Cheese Type: Uncooked, Pressed hard cheese

Ossau-Iraty unites two regions of France: the Pyrénées’ Ossau Valley in Béarn and the Iraty forest of the Basque Country. This very iconic AOC cheese from Southwest France is made exclusively from local Manech and Basco-Béarnaise sheep’s milk.

Its firm yet slightly elastic texture and light brown to grey rind conceal a buttery paste with herbaceous, nutty, and subtly fruity flavors. Enhance its taste by pairing it with traditional Basque black cherry jam for a hint of sweetness.

Store in the fridge and consume within two weeks for the best enjoyment.
