Picodon is a small, firm raw goat’s cheese from the Ardèche. It takes its name from its organoleptic quality. Our Picodon comes from the Olivier de Serres farm, carrying its name in tribute to its founder, Olivier de Serres, a 16th century humanist, who wrote many works on agriculture and developed new crops such as self-elevating worms or mulberry cultivation. ‘Picodon’, which means ‘spicy’ in Occitan, is what Picodon must taste like. It has a lovely nutty bouquet with a sharp, goaty character. Dry like the scrubland of the South-East, ”la garrigue”, you would enjoy a Picodon with a glass of sparkling wine.
