D – Saint-Julien, Château Lalande-Borie, 2016

Château Lalande is a relatively new estate in the Medoc. The vineyard was initially created when the Borie family purchased 18 hectares of vines from Château Lagrange in 1970 and 12 hectares from various other growers, some of which needed planting. Presently, the estate is under the stewardship of Bruno Borie, along with Ducru-Beaucaillou. The gravel-clay soil of the property gives rise to well-structured, rich wines dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, characterized by remarkable elegance and finesse.

Complex dark ruby wine with a good balance between fruits and earth. Hints of black and red fruits, wood (oak, cedar), vanilla, tobacco, and mushrooms on nose and palate. Pleasant and tasty attack offering ripe tannins and a beautiful powerful finish

Château Lalande Borie pairs very well with Asian cuisine and various types of cheese.
