Established in April 2001 by Gilles Gasq, Domaine La Manarine is situated on a picturesque plateau in the southern Rhone. Gilles, a talented vigneron, refined his skills while working as an assistant to Paul Jeune, the owner of Domaine Monpertuis in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. With each passing year, Gilles expanded his holdings, and today, Domaine La Manarine spans across 33 hectares of vineyards. The soil here is primarily characterized by a deep layer of more than 60% hard limestone “galets,” which are large, smooth pebbles. The domain is committed to organic viticulture, and minimal intervention is practiced in the cellar.
Vibrant wild cherry fruit accented by notes of leather, raspberry, earth and slight hints of tobacco. Fleshy and supple on the palate with smooth tannins. Quite rich with enough freshness in the finish to balance the overall.
Very good as it opens, this cuvée will bring its best after a 15 minutes opening. Perfect to pair with beef and poultry. You can also enjoy it along the local cheeses Saint-Félicien and Saint-Marcellin.
