In 1768, the young Charles Fortwenger, a skilled master baker, inaugurated a workshop in Gertwiller, Alsace, devoted to crafting delectable gingerbread and biscuits. Fast forward two centuries, and Fortwenger’s renowned gingerbread and bredele continue to be crafted with unwavering respect for the founder’s traditions: premium ingredients, a dash of indulgence, and a generous dose of expertise!
Bredele are biscuits traditionally baked in Alsace, France. The tradition is for each family to bake its own, and then offer it as a Christmas gift to every person surrounding them.
This assortment consists of three varieties of bredele: Anise-flavoured Sables, Florentins made with nuts and fruit, and Leckerlis—light gingerbread squares with almond pieces and orange peel, glazed with cinnamon.
These delectable treats make for the perfect accompaniment to your coffee breaks and to your Christmas time desserts.
Remember to preserve the freshness of this culinary delight by storing it in a cool and dry place, shielded from direct sunlight!
