Using the Gamay grape grown exclusively in the Beaujolais region of Burgundy, Beaujolais Nouveau (literally meaning new) is a ‘’vin de primeur’’ as it is harvested for sale in the same year.
The Beaujolais Nouveaux follow each other but are not alike. Due to their very short fermentation period, Beaujolais Nouveaux do not lie. No prolonged ageing can be used to modify the structure or the flavours offered by nature. The Beaujolais Nouveaux are therefore a reflection of the climate and the seasons which have seen their grapes grow.
