James Suckling: 89-90/100
Starting from the 2016 vintage, Hubert de Boüard-de-Laforêt, a seasoned winegrower since 1956 and co-owner of Château AngeluSaint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé A, as well as an oenology consultant for over 80 properties worldwide, embarked on an innovative endeavor. He began producing a range of varietals from his own vineyard plots, bearing his own label. This project aims to establish new standards of excellence for each varietal.
On the nose, it reveals notes of juicy vine peach, juicy/ripe pear and small notes of citrus (lemon, mandarine) associated with fine hints of quince, a hint of flowers as well as very discreet hints of butter (in the background) and an imperceptible hint of chestnut. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy pear, fleshy/juicy nectarine and small notes of ripe/juicy citrus associated with fine touches of quince as well as discreet hints of flowers and a subtle hint of butter. Good length. The persistence is acidulous.
