Isle of Kintyre flavour-blended cheddars were amongst the first produced. They took great care to get their recipes right at the outset, meaning that their Applesmoke Mature Cheddar has changed very little since.
The cheese has a delicate smoky flavour – that does not leave a burnt aftertaste – and a lovely smooth texture, all finished with a dusting of paprika, giving it a golden-amber appearance.
You can enjoy Applesmoke Cheddar as part of a cheese platter, or you can use it to add a smoky flavour to grilled sandwiches, burgers, or macaroni and cheese.
Should be stored in the refrigerator, wrapped in cheese paper.
