Natacha Chave, sister to the renowned winemaker Yann Chave, initially pursued philosophy before eventually embarking on her own journey into the captivating world of Syrah. Instead of joining her parents and Yann at their Domaine, she chose to acquire small plots in Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage. The name Aléofane signifies a “gem of truth” and represents Natacha’s unique interpretation of Syrah. Her inaugural vintage was crafted in 2004. It’s a labour of love, with all her vineyard work meticulously conducted by hand, and a commitment to organic practices throughout.
This organic red wine reveals on the nose intense red and black fruit aromas and some pepper notes. On the palate, the wine is ample and supple. We find with pleasure the blackberry, the cherry with some floral violet touches. It is a wine of a beautiful finesse, complex and with an interesting persistence in the mouth.
Ideal to pair with red meats such as beef and lamb or with Saint-Félicien and Saint-Marcellin, the local cheeses.
