Côtes de Provence AOC, 2S Rosé, Château des Marres, 2022

Wine Enthusiast: 93/100

Found between Saint-Tropez and Ramatuelle, this 30-hectare estate, with 27 hectares classified as AOC, features charming Provencal-style buildings amidst a green landscape. The family is deeply involved in all aspects of winemaking, from planting to bottling. The terroir, with sandy-clay-schist soils from the Maures mountains, benefits from the nearby sea’s moderating influence, resulting in exceptional climatic conditions.

With its pale pink, salmon-coloured, clear, and shiny appearance, you’ll notice flavours of citrus and thiols, accompanied by hints of exotic fruits, spices, and white pepper.
The wine starts with a lively and powerful burst of flavour, maintaining a balanced and silky texture throughout. The delightful combination of thiols and citrus notes lingers pleasantly on the palate, joined by subtle hints of white pepper. The wine finishes with a saline and mineral touch.

It pairs wonderpiecey with truffle dishes and cheeses or poultry.
