From the historic orchards of southwestern France, Mouneyrac is a fourth‑generation family house founded in 1928 by Louis Mouneyrac, today guided by Serge and Jean Louis. Renowned for its uncompromising quality and deep roots in French fruit growing, it works with trusted producers who share its values of terroir and rigour.
The Charentais melon, also known as the Cavaillon melon, has a storied journey: from Africa to Italy, where popes enjoyed it in Cantalupo, then to Avignon, and finally perfected in the Charente region. Its flesh is vibrant orange, juicy yet tender, with a honeyed sweetness and subtle floral notes balanced by refreshing acidity.
Enjoy it chilled with Bayonne ham for a classic starter – perfectly paired with a glass of Bordeaux Sémillon from Hubert de Boüard, whose soft floral notes and crisp finish highlight the melon’s delicate sweetness
For a simple summer salad: chill the melon, slice into wedges or balls, drizzle with lime juice and honey, add fresh mint, sea salt, and black pepper. For a savory twist, scatter feta and thin slices of prosciutto – a refreshing starter ready in minutes.
Food Pairing:
Delicious served as a starter paired with Bayonne or Serrano ham.
