A northern Rhône red, Crozes-Hermitage AOC from Domaine Finot features the Syrah grape in their Cuvée Claude. The 2022 vintage is aged in old oak for 12 months, revealing dark cherry, black olive, and cracked pepper with a smoky, violet perfume.
Each sip offers a full, round texture with fine, gripping tannins and a long, spicy finish. Unlike basic Crozes, this cuvée brings deeper concentration and elegance, sourced from 30-year-old vines on alluvial terraces. The wine shows meaty, bacon-fat notes typical of top Syrah.
Serve at 18°C after decanting for one hour. Pair with grilled lamb chops, beef daube, or peppered steak. Perfect alongside aged Comté cheese or mushroom tart. A rich, cellar-worthy expression of the Drôme valley.
