The tale commences in 1917 when Auguste Faye, operated as a wine merchant in Mâcon. Initially visiting to purchase the harvest, he was captivated by Javernand and ultimately acquired the estate. Since then, generations have followed in succession, up to the fifth generation. They persist in carrying on the legacy of their forebears across all facets of the winegrower’s profession. Striving to strike a harmonious balance between tradition and modernity, they are in a perpetual state of reflection and self-examination to ensure they are on the right course.
Nice ruby colour. On the nose, the woody notes are present alongside more fruity notes, spices and a hint of liquorice. In the palate, cherry dominate, the tannins are silky, pepper notes and a nice acidity balance that all together.
With a low sulfite content, it’s best to enjoy this wine shortly after opening to piecey appreciate its finest attributes. It pairs exceptionally well with dishes like Mushroom Pasta or creamy cheeses like Brie and Camembert.
