The Buchette with Flowers is a modern classic, born from the cheesemaker’s desire to marry the rustic tang of goat cheese with the aromatic elegance of edible blossoms. The inspiration comes from the lush meadows of the Rhône-Alpes, where wildflowers dot the hillsides, and this cheese captures that very essence.
Each small log is crafted from pure goat’s milk, then generously rolled in a vibrant mix of dried petals and herbs, including rose, cornflower, and marigold, creating a breathtaking mosaic that promises a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Upon tasting, the initial texture is wonderfully creamy and smooth, almost mousse like, giving way to the fresh, bright acidity characteristic of fine goat cheese. The floral crust adds a subtle, perfumed crunch that harmonises with the cheese’s clean, lemony tang, resulting in a delicate, balanced finish that lingers with herbaceous notes.
