Good to drink now, this Burgundy can keep and will develop nicely over time. Natural Winemaking, Indigenous yeasts, Reduced sulfites.
Domaine Lejeune can trace its history back as far as 1783, and no wonder the target is to fashion Pommard in the traditional style, with a solid potential for cellaring and ageing. The method of vinification is ancestral, the grapes are trodden by foot and the wines are neither fined nor filtered before bottling.
In the glass, it displays a brilliant, translucent cherry-red hue with hints of violet. The aroma is marked by an abundance of cassis and cherry fruit, followed by emerging notes of leather, cedar, vanilla, and subtle winter spices. On the palate, it delivers a profusion of red fruit—crisp and succulent, yet perfectly ripe and refined. You’ll encounter flavours of tart cherries, as well as wild berries. What makes it truly captivating is the harmonious blend of lively and almost zesty acidity, gentle and warm tannins, and an elegant infusion of wooden spices, featuring hints of vanilla, cinnamon, and allspice.
This wine is a perfect match for roast beef and a variety of vegetables. Additionally, it complements the flavours of simple, soft cheeses exceptionally well.
