With its origins dating back to 1646, this historic Château was founded when Chevalier Rahoul constructed the charterhouse. In the early 80s, the exceptional quality of its wines earned it a prestigious place in the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux. Acquired by Dourthe in 2007, the Château is now gaining growing recognition in the international press. Château Rahoul’s vineyards spans almost 40 hectares on soils of sandy-gravel and clay-gravel, characteristic of the Graves appellation.
The 2017 Château Rahoul reveals an enticing, rich, and vibrant appearance. Its fresh and fruity bouquet, predominantly filled with red berries, intensifies beautipiecey, with a touch of spice emerging on the finish. While initially quite smooth, the wine evolves on the palate, showcasing a lush, fruity, and spicy texture that unveils impressive depth, complemented by ripe, fine tannins. The harmony and liveliness that characterize this wine reach their peak in a delightful and flavourful finish.
Ideal pairing for grilled or roasted meats, stuffed poultry, cheeses, and mushroom fricassée.
